A Trip to Kasauli

As some of you may already know I am from Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh and I travel there regularly. This time the event was Holi and all of the family came together after many years to celebrate Holi.

As I grew up I inevitably lost enthusiasm for festivals but of late I have come to the realisation that festivals provide us with an opportunity for spiritual as well as social rejuvenation.

The Journey

My house in Kasauli is about a 60 minute ride from Zirakpur. Kasauli town is a further 20 minutes away (8 Km).

I started early at around 6 AM and was home by 7:10 AM.

On the way there is a curve from where one can see the plains and the view is magical.

For those of you who don’t know a new approach road to Kasauli from Chakki Mor is under construction. This road will decrease the distance to Kasauli by approximately 16 Km’s.

One will no longer need to go to Dharampur to reach Kasauli.

Anyway, While on my early morning journey I encountered multiple red and black junglefowl, a barking deer and some monkeys.

The Holi Celebrations

The Holi celebration were grand !

While the covid situation has played spoilsport, there was no let up in the celebration in our village.

We went around the village celebrating holi with everyone around.

We usually cover an area of 3 to 4 villages every year but this time we kept it only to our village.

The Trip to Kullu

The next day after Holi, I went to Kullu to bring my wife and son back to Chandigarh. They were in Kullu at my in-law’s place for almost a month and I was seriously beginning to miss the family.

So I drove from Kasauli via Kunihar to Brahmapukhar to Bilaspur to Sundarnagar to Mandi to Kullu.

It was a long exhausting drive.

The next day I drove back to Chandigarh.

Final Thoughts

While I mostly blog about professional matters, once in a while I do write personal blogs.

I think it is important to give a human touch to the blog and create a trusted relationship with my readers.

As the blog grows I get many requests from the readers about Zirakpur and Chandigarh real estate scenarios.

I have expressed my gratitude in this Gratitude blog post earlier thanking all my readers for the support.

My newsletter list is growing rapidly and the interaction on my blog have increased substantially.

I look forward to keep writing useful content and getting the reader’s support.

There are very few people who work ethically in an other very opaque industry. I request my readers to reward ethical business practices.
